RacingLine VWR I 11G501 High-Flow Air Filter is the direct-fit panel filter for the verified Volkswagen Group A5-platform applications shown in the Vehicle Fitment tab. It replaces the factory paper element while retaining the original airbox, intake ducting and heat shielding, making it a simple first airflow upgrade for compatible 1.4 TSI, 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI cars.

The filter is hand-made in the UK using RacingLine’s triple-layer Trifoam construction. Three grades of open-cell polyurethane foam balance filtration, dust capacity and airflow. A stainless-steel open mesh supports the filter media, while a poured polyurethane perimeter seal is shaped to sit securely against the standard airbox and prevent unfiltered air bypass.

Reducing the restriction of the original paper panel can improve airflow into the turbocharger and help the engine respond more freely through the mid-range. RacingLine reports an additional 15 Nm in its testing on a standard 2.0 TSI engine. Results vary with engine condition, software, fuel and supporting hardware, but the reusable element provides a useful foundation for both standard and tuned vehicles.

Verified applications: this product follows RacingLine’s current VWR11G501 application table, not the narrower shorthand used in the supplied Australian price-list description. The Vehicle Fitment tab covers the listed Golf Mk5/Mk6, Scirocco, Jetta GLI, Passat CC, Audi A3 8P, Audi TT 8J, SEAT Leon 1P and Skoda Octavia 1Z applications with bounded production years and body-specific TT Coupe/Roadster rows.

Important filter-family distinction: similar cars do not always use the same filter. Golf Mk5 GTI/Edition 30/Pirelli, Golf Mk6 R, Scirocco R, Audi S3 8P, Audi TTS 8J, Leon Cupra/R and Octavia vRS 2.0 TFSI applications use RacingLine VWR I 11G502 instead and are deliberately excluded here. Confirm the existing filter shape and factory airbox before ordering, especially on imported or engine-swapped cars.

Maintenance: RacingLine recommends inspection at least every 12 months and cleaning/re-oiling every 16,000 km, or more frequently in dusty conditions. Use only the RacingLine VWR12 0000 filter cleaner and oil kit so the three foam layers retain the intended filtration and airflow characteristics. Do not over-oil the element.

Installation: remove loose debris from the airbox before fitting, seat the polyurethane seal evenly around the housing and make sure the lid closes without pinching the filter. Recheck all intake clips and hoses before starting the engine.
