Description
This Bilstein B6 Performance front shock will not bolt directly into classic Mustang Gen 1 (1965–73) or Gen 2 (1974–79) suspension. Although Bilstein did not produce an OE-calibrated B6 shock for these early solid-axle chassis, owners may adapt modern B6 units—typically intended for 1987–93 V8 Mustangs—as part of custom suspension upgrades or coil-over conversions. These shocks feature Bilstein’s mono‑tube inverted gas‑pressure technology, and are valved for heavy-duty performance, precise damping, and improved handling on upgraded suspension setups.
Custom fitment often involves fabricated mounts, alternate perch geometry, or coil-over conversion kits. This makes them more suitable for restomods or modified builds, not original restoration. When installed, the B6 delivers enhanced traction, sharper body control, and better response—even under spirited driving or moderate loads.
