Description
RacingLine VWR I 11UPGT High-Flow Air Filter is the direct-fit reusable panel filter for the verified Volkswagen Group 1.0 TSI EA211 applications shown in the Vehicle Fitment tab. It replaces the restrictive factory paper element while retaining the original top-mounted airbox, ducting and heat shielding.
The filter is hand-made in the UK using RacingLine’s triple-layer Trifoam construction. Three grades of open-cell polyurethane foam combine filtration, dust-loading capacity and reduced intake restriction. A stainless-steel open structure supports the filter media, while a poured polyurethane moulded seal is shaped to sit securely in the factory airbox and help prevent unfiltered air bypass.
Reducing the restriction of the original paper filter allows the turbocharged 1.0 TSI engine to draw air more freely and can support improved mid-range response and efficiency. Results vary with engine condition, software, fuel and supporting hardware, so this panel filter should be treated as a well-engineered airflow and serviceability upgrade rather than a guaranteed power figure.
- Direct replacement for the compatible factory 1.0 TSI EA211 panel filter
- Reusable triple-layer Trifoam filter media
- Open-cell polyurethane foam balances airflow and filtration
- Stainless-steel support structure
- Poured polyurethane moulded seal for the factory airbox
- Hand-made in the UK
- Exact RacingLine part number: VWR I 11UPGT / VWR11UPGT
Critical filter-location check: Volkswagen Group 1.0 TSI engines use two different filter locations. VWR11UPGT is only for the earlier top-mounted airbox. Cars with the later side-mounted airbox use RacingLine VWR I 11G815 instead. Do not order from model name or engine capacity alone; compare the existing airbox and filter shape before purchase.
Verified applications: RacingLine’s current VWR11UPGT application table is split across two official table pages. The Vehicle Fitment tab represents all 21 listed application lines as 22 canonical rows because Golf Mk7 and Mk7.5 are separated at the facelift boundary. Ended generations use finite production years; current-generation rows are bounded to the 2026 catalogue review year so the Year filter remains relational and never exposes unrelated older models.
Maintenance: inspect the filter at least every 12 months and clean/re-oil it according to RacingLine’s filter-care guidance, or more frequently in dusty conditions. Use only the RacingLine VWR12 0000 filter cleaner and oil kit so the foam layers retain their intended filtration and airflow characteristics. Do not over-oil the element.
Installation: remove loose debris from the airbox, seat the moulded seal evenly around the housing and make sure the lid closes without pinching the filter. Recheck all intake clips and hoses before starting the engine.
Important fitment notes
The vehicle selector is intentionally kept simple. Please check the relevant product-specific condition below and provide the vehicle VIN at checkout so EA Performance can verify the application before ordering.
- 1.0 TSI EA211; top-mounted airbox only (side-mounted airbox uses VWR I 11G815)
- 1.0 TSI EA211 (85 kW); top-mounted airbox only
